Student Entrepreneurship

Development of the Estrie college entrepreneurship hub

Partners

Cégep de Sherbrooke, Champlain College Lennoxville, Collégial du Séminaire de Sherbrooke, Université de Sherbrooke and various Sherbrooke organizations

Description

In June 2017, Cégep de Sherbrooke, Champlain College Lennoxville and the Collégial du Séminaire de Sherbrooke signed an agreement to create an Estrie college entrepreneurship hub destined to support the development of an entrepreneurial culture at the college level. The objective of the hub is to stimulate students’ desire for learning and for contributing to societal challenge, whether through entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship.

Over the course of 2017–2018, these three institutions, assisted by the UdeS Desjardins Entrepreneurial Accelerator (AED), pooled their expertise and resources to develop an entrepreneurial program available to the entire college community across the Estrie region.

Thanks to PRESE funding, the hub will be able to continue to develop, expand its entrepreneurial activities for students, and secure its future.

Leader

Joëlle Guay, Educational Advisor at Cégep de Sherbrooke

This project has received $40,000 in financial support from PRESE under its winter 2019 funding competition.
